Congratulations James & Katherine!

Well we are half way through the working week and I have a lovely blog based on the wedding day of such a wonderful couple. On Saturday I had the absolute pleasure of documenting James and Katherine’s big day. It all started from a recommendation from James’s Brother Gareth who’s wedding I captured a couple of years ago. We sat down and discussed the details of the day whilst they looked through my wedding ‘storybook’ albums. Being very confident that they wanted me to be part of their wedding day all it required was a deposit to secure the date followed by documentation to make it official.

The day finally arrived and I was up at Beeston Manor nice and early to document the Bridal preparations. Katherine, her Mum, Sister, Bridesmaid and friend were all having a great time whilst waiting to have their make-up done as I arrived. I began capturing the smaller the details before getting those natural shots of the girls. It was a lovely and very relaxed morning and I even had time to head over to the ceremony room to see it set up and empty πŸ™‚

James arrived with his Best man Gareth and Usher in good time so I spent a short time with them whilst documenting guests arriving. With final checks complete it was time for the Groomsmen to make their way to the ceremony room whilst I headed back upstairs for the wedding dress photos.

All family and friends were asked to head upstairs for the soon arrival of the Bridal party which gave Katherine and the girls the opportunity to wait in the reception area downstairs and also questioned by the registrar to make sure that details were correct. I went upstairs to get myself in position!

So James was eagerly waiting at the front for his Bride and as moments passed the music finally started which was followed by the Bridesmaid. Katherine and her Mum waited for the opportune moment to head down the aisle based on the music’s lyrics. The ceremony was soon under way and it was very touching. With a reading said by Katherine’s Sister, rings exchanged and the signing of the register complete it was soon time for the new Mr & Mrs Kerr to make their way back up the aisle hand-in-hand.

All family and friends congratulated the newly weds and enjoyed a glass of fizz. The weather wasn’t the best so the venue cleared the ceremony room so we could make use for the formal group photographs. Before heading upstairs however there was a lovely surprise waiting outside for the couple which was their pet dog Stanley. I posed everyone for the confetti shot hoping to include Stan and even though he wasn’t a big fan of loud noises and confetti he did a great job posing with the help of his trainer.

The afternoon flew by and it was soon time for the wedding breakfast and then the all awaited speeches. Katherine’s mum had the honour to begin proceedings with some loving words and touching stories. This was followed by the main man himself, James who thanked everyone for their presence and kind gifts with special mentions to those who may have contributed in many ways. Gareth, the Best man had the last say with hilarious photos of James which obviously included stories πŸ™‚

The weather thankfully subsided giving us the opportunity to head outside for the more intimate shots of the happy couple. We spent 15-20 minutes capturing some fantastic photos which they’ll treasure for a long time πŸ™‚

The evening was closing in and a request from Katherine was a sparklers shot outside , so they invited their Ashton and Leigh friends to join them for this fun moment. The last formal part of the day was the cutting of their wedding cake which was absolutely stunning. An announcement was made for family and friends to get up and fill the edge of the dance floor for this part and including their first dance.

I had an absolutely wonderful day doing what I do best along with meeting such wonderful people. I hope James and Katherine had a memorable day and I look forward to sending through all of their wedding photographs after I’ve done a little post production πŸ™‚

For now please enjoy these sneak peek shots πŸ™‚

Thanks…
